JOIN US IN FUELING THE FUTURE OF SOUTHERN OREGON AS WE EXPAND OUR EFFORTS ACROSS JACKSON AND JOSEPHINE COUNTIES, DRAMATICALLY INCREASING ACCESS TO CHILDCARE, EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT AND FAMILY RESOURCES FOR OUR ENTIRE REGION.
The Children’s Museum of Southern Oregon is expanding its footprint in Medford.

We are thrilled to announce the addition of a 12,000-square-foot expansion to The Children’s Museum and The Ivy School preschool, marking the completion of the Medford campus of The Oregon Center for Creative Learning. This milestone represents more than just physical growth—it reflects our unwavering commitment to nurturing creativity, curiosity, and connection in the lives of Southern Oregon’s children. The new space will allow us to accommodate more families and educators, and provide greater access to the innovative, play-based learning experiences that define our programs.

With this expansion, we are significantly increasing our capacity to serve the region through enhanced exhibits, flexible learning environments, and a broader range of educational programs. From early childhood classrooms to dynamic community spaces, every square foot is designed with intention to inspire a lifelong love of learning. We are building not just for today, but for the generations of children and families who will walk through our doors in the decades to come. This project is a celebration of what we’ve accomplished—and a bold step into an even brighter future.
Oregon Center for Creative Learning is opening a Children's Museum and Ivy School Preschool in Grants Pass
The Oregon Center for Creative Learning is boldly “Fueling Our Future” by bringing its acclaimed early‑learning programs to Grants Pass. Thanks to a generous $2.7 million gift from Dutch Bros—the largest donation in the company’s history—the former Dutch Bros headquarters on SW 4ᵗʰ Street will be transformed into a vibrant Children’s Museum and Ivy School preschool. This expansion, part of OCCL’s regional capital campaign, ensures that families in Josephine County gain access to quality early childhood education, creative play spaces, and family‑support resources—all critical during the first six years when 90% of brain development occurs. By repurposing this 16,000 sq ft facility, OCCL will open a preschool September 2025 and launch a hands‑on museum by the end of 2026, strengthening the community and igniting lifelong curiosity in young learners.
Thanks to the lead gifts from

Typically, public funding for childcare assistance “cuts off” for families of 4 at an income level of about $66,000. Even then, waitlists can exceed 18-24 months and spaces are further limited
This creates family instability
-
Workplace challenges for employers
-
Lack of therapeutic, developmental and mental health services for children in crisis
-
A chronic increase in societal spending upstream - from healthcare to law enforcement, housing and public assistance

The new campaign will highlight
the importance of collective effort in shaping a brighter future for our region by investing in the well-being and education of our children.
Additionally, This campaign focuses on highlighting the transformative impact of Early Childhood Education (ECE) on individuals and society. It aims to underscore how investing in ECE can address pressing societal issues and build a stronger, more resilient community. By emphasizing the long-term benefits of early education, the campaign seeks to rally support for expanding and enhancing ECE programs.
